WHAT LIFE'S ABOUT
Do you remember playing outside all day until the street lights came on? Fixing a flat on your bike tire? Taking the flashlight apart just to see how it worked? Or playing with cardboard boxes to make forts with the neighborhood kids? Oh, the good ole days!
Fast forward to today, and technology has made amazing advances in all aspects of our lives while at the same time, taken us away from the natural desire to experiment, explore, and create. In 5th Element Studios, we wanted to create a space that sparks the imagination and creativity. A place for students to be inquisitive and make their imagination come to life through hands-on experiences with art and technology. Creative making at 5th Element Studios provides students with skills, confidence, and a venue for self-expression. Through fun, interactive learning, students develop problem-solving and collaboration skills as they team up with new friends. We empower students to be inquisitive, think outside the box (literally), and invent their own solutions for real-world problems.
In the education world, we are introducing students to the fun aspects of STEAM. In the maker world—we're just having fun. It’s not just about the learning, it’s about the exploration.
WHO WE ARE
We are proud to be a Minority, Woman,
and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business
MARKETER, MAKER, GEEK
Marketer, Maker, Geek - hmmm, maybe that should be in reverse. We didn't have much growing up but my imagination was vivid, so my aunt taught me how to use odds and ends to make and create. As technology advanced, it became So. Freaking. Awesome. to learn to turn my projects into digital creations for even more possibilities. From sewing my own gowns, to 3D printing party cosplay props, to making face shields for first responders, it all makes me happy. When I realized I could combine this passion with my day job skills—marketing and program management in education, retail, event, and technology industries—to create my DREAM JOB in a place that allows me to play where I work and share the excitement of creating and exploring possibilities with others.
ARMY STRONG, KID AT HEART
Stay alert, stay alive. Safe and secure—that's my motto. I would take things apart, just to reverse engineer it, learned circuitry at an aviation high school, then straight into the Army for 20 years. Whether working on classic sports cars, building a birthday party nerf war zone in the backyard, or 50 hexagons for our studio, I'm always prioritizing safety in the shop. Hot glue and 100 mile-an-hour tape are my friends.
Not really what we look like but bonus points if you know these movie characters from one of the coolest movies of the 90s.
